Jerry Verseput is a Certified Financial Planner™ and the founding principal of Veripax Financial Management. In addition to holding the CFP® certification, Jerry holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from California State Polytechnic University and an M.S. degree in Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He is also a member of FPA (Financial Planning Association) and is registered as an MD Preferred Financial Advisor (a network for medical professionals). Prior to establishing Veripax in 2006, Jerry was a senior-level engineering manager at Intel Corporation since the early 1990's.
Jerry combines his financial and technical background, and a deep desire to remove financial stress from his clients, by taking an active approach to client portfolio management and planning. As a former engineer, Jerry constantly challenges the status quo and believes that financial advice and portfolio management must go beyond simply recommending mutual funds. Jerry has been quoted in articles regarding investment strategy and financial topics in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, Money Magazine, Financial Advisor Magazine, Morningstar Advisor and Kiplinger's, and is the author of several published articles on investment performance and strategy.
Jerry is knowledgable and proficient in many areas of investing and investment strategies, including mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), collar-protection and covered call writing for individual stock positions, hedging strategies, income-strategies, and stock option strategies. With a wide variety of techniques to choose from, Jerry can develop customized investment plans that are not limited to one technique or investment type.
When not thinking about investments (which is rarely), Jerry enjoys golfing, fishing, and recording music. You can hear Jerry's latest album (Christmas!) on iTunes or at www.cdbaby.com/cd/jerryv1 .
